This post won’t be too long because I have been working on something else I have planned for art. I got out of my art block last month and as always I did a few drawings and am also working on one for an art contest in my school but I haven’t finished yet. Again don’t really pay much mind to these posts unless your interested in my tracking of my own art progress for some reason lol 😭.
Smaller stuff
No tweening again because I’m still lacking motivation, as for 3d modeling I did only one of my own character which I also made during this month. This character is a personal one for fun and I wanted her normal form to look very simple and not super unique because her story was more in a normal setting so I didn’t want to make her normal form seem fantasy-like.
Process
A little segment for me to keep my own process of rendering written down so I can improve it instead of just rendering different. Will save me time and I think it will help me get better since a problem I face is too many stylistic changes.
For the full body drawing the skin rendering was rather simple but for the hair I started with a dull, unsaturated base color then layered darker colors. For the lighting I picked a color that wasn’t too bright but also enough to give it some contrast. I also used a bit of bounce light from the can of cola to her hair, that’s why it is slightly red. When doing bounce light a tip for making sure your colors are cohesive together is to check the greyscale version. Saturation amount and colors are up to the individual person’s art style or mood they are aiming for. I do the same for some other pieces but sometimes it’s a bit different depending on the mood I’m going for.
I am by no means awesome at art but I will try to give a bit of advice to others still to hopefully be of help in some way! Your choice if you don’t choose follow it or think “Nah, this is not want I’m trying to do”

I made two other rendered style pieces as well. One is of Perona from One Piece, I love her design a lot so I wanted to draw her and the other was just a messy experiment using me and my friends characters! (Read usage permissions here.)

I’m trying to keep a consistent style but it’s not really working because I’m only motivated to draw what i feel like drawing. I hope it will get better and I’m trying my best to have the same style for rendered pieces.
As for the 3d mode I mentioned earlier I played around with it since I’m super good yet but I like how it turned out for now. The quality is not the best but I’m not sure how to fix it. The process was the same as my other ones where I use basic shapes to make up parts of her body then after sculpting it I transfer the OBJ file to procreate to color. I do not know how to fix the file quality.
Also made a few character designs, nothing super special. One was a simple raffle for fun since I just wanted to draw. Her theme was bear + bread + bow. I gave her a simple little bear form too. The other was also just a doodle and I put them up for offers. I added some extra art because they wanted me to. I don’t think I can use my rendering style for designs since some people hate rendered character references and also sometimes I just don’t feel like doing stuff in a more messy, painterly style so I just use cell shading because I want it to be cleaner.
