February: More progression

I had a good amount of motivation this February and I am decently proud of myself. Also my toyhou.se account hit 1300 subs thank you guys sm!!

Tweening:

This month, I created three tweened icons, including a long-overdue raffle piece. I feel like I’ve improved a lot compared to my earlier works as I pick up new tips about live2d. I’m considering post a tutorial next month to help some others get started with live2d, however it wont be complex enough for Vtuber models, it will just be for more simple pieces. In my opinion live2d is such a good option for tweening, even if some features are behind a paywall.

Scene work:

Next, I did a bunch of scenes as I really hope to draw like some of the people I look up to one day, especially like some of the really good artists on 小红书. Afterall the best way to improve at art is to just keep practicing! Most of the scenes were fanart of some novels and manhwas I read, one was for my favorite characters birthday (Kim Dokja from Omniscient Reader; totally recommend it I love it so much….tmyfiictrwiegtmya… /ref) so I tired to draw a birthday scene. Not super happy with the perspective to be honest but you can’t always have a perfect piece of art I guess. Secondly, I drew a character, Seo Minji, from another different apocalypse novel (Can you tell I like stories with apocalypses) because he literally only had like two pieces of art in the Instagram tag (Oh yeah I finally got another social media, Instagram, at last I kept procrastinating). The last piece was gift art of a friend’s character (Ramyune on toyhou.se!) had tons of fun rendering the water but I have no idea how to draw plants… I guess that’s another thing on my improvement list.

Other art:

Besides animation and scenes I also did some more designs like always to promote my account and some to earn some pocket money. The axolotl themed one was a regular character raffle, the bat one was a late valentines character raffle (at the time I was too busy drawing Dokja birthday art instead </3) and the shadow guy with a lantern was actually a character I made from my ELA project (the teacher allowed Ai which made me kind of sad but of course I drew mine instead). These characters already have new homes do not claim as yours! The last two are my character and a full body piece I owed someone else.

Also wanted to mention; this adopt in particular I’m super proud of! Carnivorous stone angel… I could think of some cool story ideas for her for sure. I made her because I’ve always wanted to do a stone angel type of character and also my brother really likes Venus flytraps and he owns two of them so it have me an idea. I drew a full body and animated an icon of her.
